Add An Asset Type

An Asset Type on the platform refers to a particular type of bin, container or object. It is used to differentiate the different type of assets that you may have within your organisation. This article shows how to add an Asset Type.

During the initial account setup and onboarding stage (pre-installation), it is essential to add an Asset Type to the platform. This helps streamline the installation process by having this information pre-recorded on the platform.

Different Asset Types should only be created if they vary. For example, organisations often have various types of bins or containers, such as a 240L and 120L bin or container.

  • Log into your Superfy Account.
  • Click on the 'Hamburger' Menu located on the top left-hand side of the screen
  • Select Inventory from the listed menus.

  • On the Inventory pop-up screen, click on Add Asset Type and enter the required information below

    • Asset Type Name- use your preferred naming convention, ie, General Waste Bin, 240L
    • Capacity- this refers to the measurement of the bin's volume or capacity which is typically included in the bin specification manual or data sheet provided by the bin/asset manufacturer. To add Custom Icons, please reach out to your Account Manager or Customer Success Manager or email support@superfy.com

    • Description- add a brief description of the asset type
    • Fill Height- can be entered here as a generalised description, however the correct Fill Height will need to be entered at time of adding pins (assets) to the map.
    • Fill Gap- can be entered here as a generalised description, however the correct Fill Gap will need to be entered at time of adding pins (assets) to the map.
