      Battery Suggestions for the AssetTrack Cellular-R

      Battery selection is crucial for maximising the lifespan of the AssetTrack Cellular-R tracker in the field. This article provides recommendation on selecting the right batteries for the AssetTrack Cellular-R.

      Recommendations

      1. Only use new batteries of the same type 
        1. We highly recommend using new batteries  
        2. Do not mix battery types, use fresh batteries (ideally from the same packet). 
        3. Old batteries can lead to battery leakage and other complications. 
      2. Test your batteries 
        1. Ideally, each battery should be tested using a battery tester before being installed
      3. Use Quality, Reputable Brands 
        1. Different devices support different battery chemistries (alkaline, LiFeS2, LTC) - and each has its pros and cons.  
        2. LTC is often touted as having the longest life - but there are cheap, low-quality LTC batteries on the market, and batteries such as Energizer Ultimate Lithium will easily outlast these.
