Troubleshooting Network Connectivity problems with the G2 Fill Level Sensor

Network connectivity issues with the G2 Fill Level Sensor can often arise when the asset is situated in an area with a weak network signal or if there are compatibility problems. This article shows how to troubleshoot network connectivity problems.

STEP 1:

If possible, take and check the Manual Reading to ensure that the G2 Fill Level Sensor is connected, data is being sent to the platform, and the asset fullness level is being recorded accurately.

STEP 2:

If you do not hear any beeps, check batteries as they may need replacing. If one battery needs replacing, best practice is to replace both at the same time.

STEP 3:

Take and check the Manual Reading again to ensure data is being received to the platform.

STEP 4:

If taking a Manual Reading does not resolve the issue, you can refer to the Throughput Score report to check if the sensor has previously recorded data and determine the quality of its connectivity during that time. This information will assist in identifying whether the problem lies with the sensor's location (such as network interference) or the type of asset being monitored. If this is the case, it may be necessary to install an External Antenna to improve the sensor's connectivity performance.

STEP 5:

If the sensor has an external antenna installed, make sure the Antenna is connected properly and the cable is not damaged.
