Create and Add a Waste Type to a Container

This article shows how to create and add waste types to a container. This information can be used to track the collections for different waste materials and you can report on the overall diversion rate and estimated weight of the collected waste.

Create a Waste Type

 

You have the flexibility to create unlimited waste types within the Superfy Platform.

Don’t have a login? 
Please reach out to your Company Admin, Account Manager, Customer Success Manager, or email support@superfy.com. They will be able to assist you in creating a login for your account.

Upon logging into the platform, you will be automatically taken to the Collections module. Otherwise, navigate to the Collections module located on the top left-hand side of the screen.

  • Click on the Settings icon located on the top right-hand side of the screen
  • Select Inventory from the listed menus.

  • On the Inventory pop-up screen, click on Others

  • Select Waste Type from the listed options

Please note that the option may appear as Trash Type in some geographic locations.

  • A variety of waste types are automatically included in each account as part of the standard account setup. You can choose to either Add or Delete any Waste Type of your choice. 
  • Click on Add Waste Type to Add a new Waste Type

Please note that the option may appear as Add Trash Type in some geographic locations. 

  • Enter the specific Waste Type in the Waste Type Name field
  • Enter the Weight per Unit of Volume in the Density field

Including the Density allows an estimation of the weight to be calculated for the waste type based on the fill level percentage or volume of waste type in the bin.

  • Click Save

To delete a Waste Type, simply click on the Delete icon next to the Waste Type. On the pop-up screen, click on Yes, delete it.

To edit a Waste Type, simply click on the Waste Type.

 

Add a Waste Type to A Container

  • Click on the icon on the top left hand-side of the Map View. Search for an container using one of the following:
    • Container
    • Sensor Serial Number
    • Streets/Location
  • The map will centre to this container location. Click on the icon to view Container data.

  • On the Container Map & Data tab on the pop-up screen located on the right-hand side, scroll down to find Waste Type.

  • Click on the dropdown arrow beside Waste Type to add a Waste Type to a Container.

  • Click Save
  • After saving, the Estimated Weight for the Container will be calculated and displayed in the Container Map & Data tab on the pop-up screen located on the right-hand side. 

Along with this, a Container Type can also be added.
